ASSESSMENT APPROACH

To understand and assess your need for your wellbeing clinical interview, observation, behavioural assessment, educational and psychometric testing if required is discussed across multiple sessions during the course of treatment. You are kept apprised of it at all steps!!

TREATMENT APPROACH

During the initial sessions, we will talk about why you are here and about your current concerns. A general treatment plan will be developed with your input and reviewed within the first one or two sessions. Sessions are usually scheduled weekly or biweekly if needed or every other week, and each scheduled session typically lasts 50 minutes. The nature and severity of the issue determines the numver of sessions, but usually 8 to 12 visits is common. If at any time before or during treatment you are unclear about these methods, please discuss your concerns.

TREATMENT TERMINATION

Therapist and the client have choice/freedom to STOP the treatment anytime during the course of treatment. During the treatment the therapist will discuss with you and stop/pause the therapy if there is conflict of interest, dual relationship, negative transference, personal inability to help the client, and/or any situation wherein the client’s progress is hampered.

CONFIDENTIALITY
The therapist is bound and responsible to keep all information confident what you share with them. There is also maintenance of records of all patients and professional contacts and their confidentiality is strictly safeguarded at all times. Also, in cases of danger or imminent risk of harm to a patient or others. These situations occur rarely, and therapist makes every effort to discuss the matter with you before disclosing information.

Minors and confidentiality : It is often necessary for children/teens to develop a “zone of privacy” whereby they feel free to discuss personal matters with greater freedom. This is particularly true for adolescents, who are naturally developing a greater sense of independence and autonomy. However, at any point, if the therapist understands that your involvement is good for your child’s wellbeing and there is high risk, you will be informed, and your involvement will be welcomed in consultation and/or during family therapy.
